A bit of British

Bag made out of vintage Union Jack flag, naval emblem and brass buttons.
Louis XVI style chair upholstered in vintage Union Jack flag and a vintage metal trunk painted with British flag.
One of my favourite combinations, egg on toast with Marmite.
Things I didn't know about 'the flag'.

A very typical British countryside scene.
A famous and much loved original, Mini. This one has a  very patriotic roof.
Almost every village  has one of these recognisable telephone boxes.
A vintage tin, perfect for a celebration cake.
Royal memorabilia.
Original Jacobs biscuit tin in a shape of a Royal coach dating back to the coronation of
King GeorgeVI in 1937

The famous British Blue...
who loves to sleep in my shop window display.

Hope you've enjoyed my little tribute to this fabulous country.
Back soon :)

Lovely post!! What beautiful photos!! I especially love the Royal tins! I am really, really enjoying the Jubillee, we have just come home from a wonderful party in the village, proper old fashioned event with rows and rows of trestle tables with some beautiful food, 50's music, and lots of bunting and flags! Coming home to some tea & toast (after the kids have gone to sleep!) and settling down to read posts like yours are a perfect end to the day and the Jubillee celebrations! xx

I did enjoy your tribute, hasn't it been a great few days of celebrations. I so remember having the card with the flag that you folded over each other to get the ever famous Union Jack!
have a lovely week

I have that very book, The Queen's Coronation Day! Part of my royal books collection - I had many books on the royals as a child because in the 1950s they were very much looked up to, unlike today, where they've come in and out of favour (and are now very much in favour, I think.) Love the British Blue cat, of course!
Yes, loved your little tribute to our fabulous country!

I love the tin in the shape of a coach, and that chair is so pretty. Thanks for sharing these items from your special country.
