Platform 9 and 3/4

Easter Holidays.
Hmm...Where shall we take the kids???
To see the cupboard under the stairs of course,

Harry Potter's 'room' before Hogwarts.
               and The Great Hall.
Where the pupils of Hogwarts feasted.
The day we spent at the Warner Studios was truely magical. It was wonderful to see all the filming sets and actual props used over the 10 years production of all 8 Harry Potter films.

Prof.Dumbledor's study with the fabulous telescope in the background.

This automated door was quite impressive.

Death eaters masks
Ron Weasley's bed in the dormitory.

Although I'm not as mad on the Potter saga as some, this was my favourite part  -
Diagan Alley.
It was just like a Dickensian Street packed with imaginative little shops that looked as if they were established 100 years ago.
And then there was the model department where miniature versions of the whole of Hogwarts was created in tiny detail.
A breath taking man-size model of the entire Hogwarts.
The prosthetic masks.
This was a lovely touch  -  a whole room
filled to the ceiling with wands. Each one with a hand written lable for every person who was involved in the Harry Potter
production over the 10 years. JK Rowling has hers among these too.

We all loved the experience and are now re-watching the films to put our new found knowledge to the test.

I am mad about Potter and really must get it together to visit this in 2013. Your photos tell the story of your visit wonderfully. I too love the idea of Diagon Alley, it's combination of scariness and curiosity make it irresistable, it's my favourite part of the books and films. What a brilliant idea to have those wands named in tribute to all who helped make the Potter magic. Thank you for sharing! Minerva ~
