Happy Easter.

Just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Easter and share some iconic symbols of this holiday.

I can't resist ceramic eggs. Each one hand decorated and totally unique.

Lemons for eggs - Is this cheating???

This was a gift from my Dad. I'm a Rooster in Chinese horoscope and, funnily enough, I've loved cockerels for as long as I can remember.
This one is a vintage French pate dish, hand painted and signed by the artist.

Not quite in the same league, my simple efforts for a brighter table.

This cute salt and pepper set made me smile...

A friend of mine, Erika, makes these gorgeous felt bunnies. All different and totally adorable.
So let me sign off wishing you a lovely family weekend.

Platform 9 and 3/4

Easter Holidays.
Hmm...Where shall we take the kids???
To see the cupboard under the stairs of course,

Harry Potter's 'room' before Hogwarts.
               and The Great Hall.
Where the pupils of Hogwarts feasted.
The day we spent at the Warner Studios was truely magical. It was wonderful to see all the filming sets and actual props used over the 10 years production of all 8 Harry Potter films.

Prof.Dumbledor's study with the fabulous telescope in the background.

This automated door was quite impressive.

Death eaters masks
Ron Weasley's bed in the dormitory.

Although I'm not as mad on the Potter saga as some, this was my favourite part  -
Diagan Alley.
It was just like a Dickensian Street packed with imaginative little shops that looked as if they were established 100 years ago.
And then there was the model department where miniature versions of the whole of Hogwarts was created in tiny detail.
A breath taking man-size model of the entire Hogwarts.
The prosthetic masks.
This was a lovely touch  -  a whole room
filled to the ceiling with wands. Each one with a hand written lable for every person who was involved in the Harry Potter
production over the 10 years. JK Rowling has hers among these too.

We all loved the experience and are now re-watching the films to put our new found knowledge to the test.
